In the post-Soviet era theme of persecution of Jews in the state or only in the domestic scale sometimes become an excuse for all sorts of speculation filmmakers, which can not be avoided, in particular, and the film "See Paris and die." This picture is unpleasant affects, above all, the lack of dignity and hysteria, including - in the game Tatyana Vasilyeva, somehow marked a variety of prizes: the festival "Kinotavr" prize "Nika" and even monetary award from the Moscow City Hall. Of course, anti-Semitism as a manifestation of the universal chauvinism should call the righteous anger of the normal citizens, and a typical Jewish mother, ready to do anything for his talented son, a pianist, is required to obtain from the audience only the hot empathy - and nothing more.

But oddly enough, while watching the movie Alexander Proshkin (its "Cold Summer of ..." was far-tuned to exactly the socio-political tone in the treatment of recurrent Stalinism too outrageous) does not leave one feeling. The heroine Elena is more concerned about the device prosperous career own offspring Jura and desirable to "not in this country," and not genuine concerns about domestic and state oppression of the Jews. In any event, for her concept of the "fifth point" in the questionnaire also acquired psychopathological to "fad", sort of persecution.

And at one of those moments, even if you - half-Jewish, and the mother, begins to experience a sharp bias against victims who are pursuing to provoke retaliatory inappropriate actions. A message, the application directly to the title belt is completely offensive: stóit whether voluntarily leave their homeland (whatever bastard it was!), If in a dream Paris wants right to die - either from an indescribable joy, or of all-consuming angst? Perhaps, with the support of actress director created a different, more sinister way: not a Jewish mother, but Soviet obsessed aunt, who is obsessed with the implementation of their repressed complexes, wanting to create the perfect destiny for his son, so the nationality has absolutely nothing to do with it, and mean neighbor -Russian, envying other people's success, is the villain, even without his anti-Semitic remarks?

That is the Jewish motif appears in the movie "See Paris and die" bringing in favor of modernity and not without a certain amount of speculation: to play on the first hushed material and achieve external severity of the problem. The effect is largely gets back on the result - the viewer, regardless of awards handed out generously, may instead be irritated because of the role which she performed Tatyana Vasilyeva-Itsykovich.

The reign of Ivan the Terrible - this time, fame, luxury and cruelty, perversion of all kinds, lowliness virtue, and betrayal becoming the rule. But even then there were nights Russian people as Prince Silver and Morozov.

Fragment from the film "Tsar Ivan the Terrible"

Review

And here is a film about Ivan the Terrible. Moreover, according to "Silver Prince". I love this story, and watched with great interest this screen version (there is a second, it still was not looking).

In the film two minuses. With that, the film perfectly revealed almost all the images, the image of the king is "swimming". Whether nedoprodumali interpretation, whether the actor implementation problems directing task. Half of the phrases he utters not the tone, sometimes the motivation for his actions is extremely vague, and even incomprehensible, he served there as a mentally ill person, or is that his vision - just a dream or a metaphor. The second disadvantage - lack of whole idea is just filming the story of Tolstoy. "Duplicity," the king and fool for a full idea still does not pull.

It seems to be seriously flawed, but still I liked the movie.

The story, with the exception of the final, recorded a surprisingly complete (minus a couple of scenes). No special stupidities, sets and costumes did not look cheap, and the film is surprisingly not boring. The plot is a good story, and here it is not spoiled. About the book a little more openness in the "seamy": rioting guardsmen here more directly shown.

The second role Kavsadze was given to him somehow better than the first, whacky get his touching and sincere.

Fedor Basmanov success. And Tolstoy is quite transparent hints that a relationship with him in Grozny, but here at all in plain text. The only thing that sorry, missed the fact that for all that Basmanov brave soldier, and not just "in Baby annuals" much dancing. Actor - handsome, great eyes, the operator does not hesitate to take a look, and played well: there is no love on either side not, Fedor is trying to manipulate the king for corrupt purposes, not very skillfully, until recently, not realizing that his beauty and skill in the pleasures for Ivan - a toy that has long tired, and just a habit established relationships postpones the inevitable disgrace. Alas, the acting duo with Kavsadze then somehow does not add up, that is clearly not interested in this facet of his image, despite the fact that the screen time given to Basmanova except that slightly less than silver.

"Druzhina" is good too - kind of a true nobleman, this noble old Russian suit. One of the most striking episodes - an attempt to break his Grozny, wearing a clown suit. When the lord of silence is menacing, then casually throws his hat, looking into the eyes of the king and begins to scold him outwardly calm ... I was filled.

I liked very amorous dreams Duke Silver, which in the original was not. But in vain! Lover can not dream of the beloved, and at every opportunity. And then there's separation ...

Final evidence preserved, but psychologically - no. Silver Book, a very simple and gentle, shows himself a true fatalist, and in the film - is very worried. I can not say it - lack.

While filming in front of us the classics, the film is clearly not meant to be high art, which is very good. The result was normal such drama on a historical theme. But here's the image of the Terrible led, yes ... maybe in the next screening is better?
