The film's protagonist Valera - gay guy from Moscow, who at age 19 learned a whole hell of war in Afghanistan, where he lost a leg. Returning from the war, he had no idea what a nightmare for him is just beginning ...

Review

In 1925, the famous American writer William Faulkner wrote the short story "The Leg." In this work, it was a young student at Oxford Devi, who was to take part in the First World War and lost a leg in battle. Surreal story describes the struggle with all the evil Davy, which arose in him during the war and took on a ghostly form.

In 1991, a young film director Nikita Tyagunov decides to withdraw his debut as a screen version of this story. Write the script, he asked a familiar playwright Kozhushanova Nadezhda, who decided that the plot of the story is easy to transfer to modern realities. Since Devi was Valery Martynov, and turned into the First World War in Afghanistan.

The main role Tyagunov chosen casually got to watch an obscure young student VGIK Ivan Ohlobystin. Thus, the "foot" - a film shot almost one debutant (director, cinematographer, lead actor, director picture). So notable for its success not only in the framework of the Russian kinoprostranstva, but also in numerous international festivals.

See the "foot" I decided solely because Ohlobystin Ivan, whom I have always loved for its originality and some special magic that exude his kinopersonazhi from Parfen Rogozhin to the doctor Bykov, from an unnamed scout special person to advertiser Malyuta.

The film "leg" posmotrenny 20 years after its release, makes a very strange impression. At first he did not really like it. He shot in his favorite style Russian directors of the time: the strange music, intricate dialogue, surreal scenes. It is clear only that nothing is clear. Then I read the story of Faulkner and article about the film on Wikipedia, which explains a lot. 4 days after viewing, I realized that I can not let go of some of the scenes from the film, and especially the 10-minute dialogue Ohlobystin and Peter Mamonov. There is in this scene, something that goes deep into the soul and does not rest.

In short, this is a film about the senselessness of war and ruthlessness, about how the man who has passed through this hell, that he would never be able to live in the old way, and that the foot - this is not very strong that he to lose. Okhlobystin just perfect. Still, it's an amazing actor - a thin, lively, charming.

Advised to see "step" I do not presume. Russian films of the early 90's - this is a very material to the amateur. But if you like the aesthetics and style of shooting such films as "Assa", "Black Rose - Emblem of Sorrow", "referee", be sure to take a look and "foot." It is no wonder that it unconditionally accepted and loved, a veteran Afghan war.

Story by Yuri Polyakov, which formed the basis of the script, one of the first in the domestic literature for the first time to illuminate the social problems of military service.

Review

At first glance, the film Husain Erkenov "One hundred days before the order" may seem completely apathetic recruitment featureless with a weak formulation. The fact that an outsider like it is unlikely, even less will like to serve in the army, and considered this period is very important stage in life. Like he could very narrow audience, mostly those who served and took the army as the biggest ass, which only can please people. Assess bias, personally I can not, and I think this film the most honest picture about the army, but because, as in any normal Russian part - meaning here. But it is so, and should be a movie to one hour to demonstrate all that gloomy palette of feelings, when you realize that they are in a place that does not have to be. Just a collection of scenes from various negative manifestations of military life, passed through the prism of the flying from the coils of consciousness. Slowness of some scenes finally turns all the established system of the absurd, senseless and merciless, where people are fighting for some unknown reason, are constantly being built, do something and ... die. Die, of course, not in the literal sense - discouraged that, in those circumstances in which there are characters of the film leads to a clouding of reason, fortunately, easily reversible, however, as a result, one can make some things with which to be reckoned. It is from this state are obtained suicide, autopsy revealing veins and sometimes shoots a hundred days to order, and these actions can not be explained, but watching this movie, you can feel if it is of course necessary.

A screen adaptation of the famous novel by Yuri Polyakov came 10 years later, after writing the book, and only 3 years old - with its output (censorship!), of course, it is claimed, and the relevance and topicality of the source. The book is famous because it was the first work that lays bare the problems of a modern army, in particular, hazing, had not attached by the mass public, and causing problems with the censors. Given the fact that in the 90's in Russian cinema was too little eroticism, Elena Kondulaynen subsequently and glorify a bit part in the film, but the fact that the army drove off the coils fantasy soldier becomes a sex symbol of the national cinema, says more about in what were appalling state it is the film in the early 90's. Therefore, the movie currently has an exotic representative early Russian cinema, which is still the Soviet, but from which one can already see that the Union is falling apart, and the ruins of his future is already building a nest grim reality of the 90th, where the "studio of children's and youth films" will no longer be children and youth films.

Outcome: Operational psychological arthouse about negative impressions of the military service, to see that there are very few reasons, the main of which are: to remember what this stuff did your army.
